Cheapest Pay As you Go Tariffs For 2011

Cheap, is not always the cheapest for you, especially with pay as you go. Before you go and source a tariff that initially looks like its going to be the cheapest option, think. Getting the wrong tariff can lead to you spending more money then you need to. With the changing economy and prices going up we all have to watch our budgets. Thinking ahead can help you save money in the long term

firstly work out what sort of user you are.

Mentally take stock of how you use your phone are you a texter, talker or are you a data hog who gets ill when not connected to the internet.
Usage, how much do you use, this one is obvious but often overlooked if you go with a tariff with to few mins or to few texts you are going to end up topping up a lot and costing more money

Our Recommendations

At this moment in time I am finding the Three tariffs hard to beat as you get so much for not a lot. Technically speaking the O2 Simplicity PAYG Tariff is the cheapest coming in at £7.50 but the minimum top up is £10, that will give you unlimited texts but nothing more (except for the remaining £2.50)
Checkout the tariffs yourself

Nokia 2220 Cheap pay as you go Phone

The Nokia 2220 available on pay as you go is one of the cheapest pay as you go phones on the market at the moment retailing from just £34.99. There are some PAYG phones that are cheaper but this one is packed full of features so for the price its a steal.

Nokia’s latest slider phone keeps its ambitions low to provide tolerable performance and connectivity on a slender budget. Lacking key features, such as Bluetooth data transfer, MicroSD card support and 3G connectivity, the Nokia 2220 boasts a camera, decent construction and MP3 ringtones.

The 2220 is available for as little as £5 a month on a 24-month contract, but the handset will set you back £50. Pay as you go customers can expect to shell out approximately £30 for this modest mobile.

samsung galaxy ace s5830 payg

samsung galaxy ace s5830 payg

The samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 pay as you go phone is a great little mobile supporting android 2.2 froyo. With a scree that is both quick and responsive the S5803 is going to be a cheap phone that is more cost effective then the more expensive handsets.

The web browser is the standard one that comes with android but due to the lack of raw procesing power it is unable to run flash on the Galaxy ace.

Galaxy Ace Wi Fi Hotspot

One major feature I like is the ability to create a Wi-fi Hotspot letting you share your 3G data connection. This feature alone is a big plus in my book as I do a lot of work on the move via my tablet.

HTC Wildfire S PAYG Pay AS You Go

Ok lets have a quick rundown on the HTC wildfire S available on Pay As You Go. The Wildfire S is a budget smart phone from HTC with big price tag features.

The phone itself is a little smaller then average, it has a few improvements over the original Wildfire notable the higher resolution screen

The 3.2-inch screen runs at 320×480 resolution, so obviously isn’t going to be as sharp as displays found on more expensive phones. But it is pleasingly solid, nice and glassy and responsive to even the lightest of touches.

HTC have removed the trackball making it a little shorter then the Wildfire

Htc Desire S Pastel Teal PAYG Pay as you go

TechRadar has called it the most powerfull android phone ever built, the Htc Desire S is making a name for itself in the world of mobile computing

The Desire S has so much in common with the Nexus One that it feels like we’ve seen it all before. Spec-wise these two Android 2.1 phones have the same processor, 1,400mAh battery, 3.7-inch 800 x 480 AMOLED screen, 5-megapixel autofocus camera and 512MB of ROM, while externally they have very similar CMF (industrial shorthand for “color, material and finish”) and weight (4.76 ounces). As for differences, the Desire packs 64MB more RAM than the Nexus One (512MB), lacks a second mic on the back for noise cancellation (more on this later), and dons physical buttons plus a clickable optical trackpad below the screen. We certainly prefer these real buttons since the Nexus One’s touch-sensitive keys do sometimes miss our inputs; on the other hand the Nexus One may offer a better single-hand operation with its keys closer to the screen. Funnily enough, it looks like the Legend has the best of both worlds.

Instead of the gorgeous aluminium chassis, we’re given a slightly more low-key brown case and a huge 3.7-inch OLED capacitive touchscreen. The Desire is pure gadget sauciness wrapped in an unassuming package. Like its twin, the Nexus One, the Desire’s appearance gives little indication of its powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor or its seemingly endless pool of features. On the outside, it’s just modest, dark grey plastic, although there are a couple of design tweaks that set it apart from the Nexus One.

BlackBerry Bold 9780 PAYG Pay as you go

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 an upgrade to the Bold 9700 RIM’s flagship range. The new OS is a massive improvement making the phone a lot more usable and fit for purpose, I felt that the 9700 just lacked that little bit of polish to make it a truly great phone. The Blackberry 9780 on the other hand is all that the 9700 should have been.

The new operating system added to the improved screen makes you feel like you have just gone up a class sporting a 5mp camera that can actually take a good snap for once. the keyboard has been resigned and may feel a little strange if your used to Blackberrys previous phones.

The Bold 9780 is available in black or white and is free on contract depending on your monthly bill
